Mumbai: After the glorious victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka Assembly, the Shiv Sena stated that the win was not because of a “Modi wave”.
The Shiv Sena on Wednesday claimed that the BJP may have won more seats, but its percentage of votes has not gone up. On the other hand, the Congress’ percentage of votes has risen.
The party’s statement comes a day after its leaders confirmed that the Karnataka poll results would not change the Sena’s strategy to contest the 2019 elections solo.
In January, the Sena announced that it will not enter into an alliance with the BJP for the 2019 Maharashtra and general elections. It contested the Karnataka elections solo and fielded 40 candidates.
