Nagpur : No maintenance of electricity poles, wires and other systems could be done in the past 30 years. Now the government has prepared a Rs 7300 cr plan for that and it will be implemented soon, said Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule in Vidhan Sabha today.
Energy Minister said that the department has selected 21000 accident –prone spots and immediate repairs will be taken up there to avoid loss of life, and loss of property. Rs 4 lakh compensation is given to the kin on death due to accident as per the rehabilitation department of the government. The injured are given the complete expenses of their medication. For claiming this, signature of the head of the rural hospital will be sufficient for rural cases, he said.
The cheque of the relief amount to the kin of the dead person is given in seven days while the amount for those injured in accident is paid in three months. Divisional Directors have been authorised to deal with cases at local level, the Minister said.
Branch Engineer suspended:
In an accident cause due to 22 kv high tension cable break on May 19, 2018 at Mauza Rohkal, Taluka Khed in Pune district injuring Vishal Kachole and his mother. In this case the concerned branch engineer has been suspended, Bawankule informed the House. He said that the amount of Rs 1.55 lakh for treatment of the injured will be paid soon.
