Robbers fled away with 2.9 crore worth valuables, police teams to chase them based on CCTV footage

Mumbai: Recently the jewellery and cash worth Rs 2.9 crore were robbed from an APMC vegetable dealer’s house in Vashi on Friday. The Navi Mumbai police got the CCTV footage which identifies the accused and have started the probing, stated that they were near to arresting the six robbers, including a woman.

Three police teams have been sent outside Maharashtra to nab ‘repeat criminals’.

As per police information, the robbers posed as courier staff to gain entry in the house at Kusum society, Sector 17, in Vashi.

Arun Menkudle deals in vegetables at Vashi APMC market and also lends money. At the time of the robbery, his 48-year-old wife, Vaishali, and daughter were at home. They were threatened at gun point and tied to chairs.

Rama Kant, 22, the watchman of the building, said that he saw the group entering the building from the back gate. When they left building from the back gate, they were carrying two big green bags. They left in a four-wheeler.
