Mumbai: The Panvel-Indapur phase 4- lane road construction on Mumbai-Goa National Highway and the outside road blueprint (Ring Road) approval work of Kolhapur should be done with greater pace directed Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Chandrakant Patil.
Today a review meeting was held in Mantralaya under his chairmanship for taking stock of the 4-lane Panvel-Indapur phase road construction and external road of Kolhapur city. Mr Patil took the review and directed the responsible officers to speed up the work. Deputy Collector A R Hadgal, secretary KT Patil, National Highway Authority technical member D Tawade, Regional Officer Raju Singh, project director Prashant Hegde and other officers were present on the occasion.
The design of the Ring Road of Kolhapur had been changed according to the demands of the local people and now their houses will be safe. Similarly their demand was to avoid construction of the road from the farm. Accepting there demands, the road was turned in the plan. Mr Patil urged to give the information of these changes to the local representatives and go ahead with further action. About the Panvel-Indapur Road 4 Lane construction Mr Patil said that this road is 84 km long and 38 km road between Panvel to Karav is being given on the BOT basis. He said that the 16 km Road construction ahead of karav is in progress. He said that the proposal of tender for further 30 km road ahead of this is pending with the National Highway authority. He asked the officers responsible for speedy action on the proposal.
