Nagpur Congress, NCP hold march to protest Unnao, kathua rapes

Nagpur: Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held separate candle marches to protest the rape and murder in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and gangrape in Unnao in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The party workers demanded for justice to be given to the victim and impose sever punishments to the culprits.

City Congress President Vikas Thakre, former MP Vilas Muttemwar, Umakant Agnihotri along with others protested at Variety Square to criticize the growing crime taking place against women in India.

An eight-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped in Kathua in Jammu Kashmir. Similarly, 17-year-old girl from Unnao was also gang raped in UP. Seeking quick justice in these two cases, people in many parts of the country carried out protest.
