MHA cancels appointment of 9 Delhi government advisors

New Delhi: In a letter written the Delhi government, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that posts of nine advisors were not approved as it reversed its previous orders which ‘created’ those posts. In reply the Delhi government said that of these nine posts, only three were still working for it following approval from the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

The MHA, in its letter dated April 10, had said that “the following posts on which the appointees are officiating are not in the list of posts approved for the Ministers and Chief Ministers of the Government of NCT of Delhi”.

It also said that “no prior approval of the Central government was taken for creation of said posts on which these persons have been appointed on co-terminus basis”.

All the nine posts of advisors were cancelled by the Union Home Ministry stating that the “services under the Government of NCT of Delhi is a subject reserved for the Central government as per the Constitution”.

The nine advisors whose appointment has been cancelled by MHA include Amardeep Tiwari (media advisor to law minister), Arunodya Prakash (media advisor to deputy chief minister), Raghav Chadha (advisor to finance minister), Atishi Marlena (media advisor to deputy chief minister).
