Krazy Castle aqua park owner gives Rs 6 lakh to kin of deceased

Nagpur : The owners of Krazy Castle Aqua park, Haldiram’s has step forward to compensate for the loss of life at its property. The company has given a monetary compensation of Rs 6 lakh to the parents of deceased Sagar Gangadhar Sahastrbuddhe and Akshay Bind (19) and Sagar Sahastrabudhe (21) who lost his life at Krazy Castle in a tragic incident on May 20.

The cheque of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash were handed over to Gangadhar Sahastrabuddhe recently at the hands of North Nagpur MLA Dr Milind Mane at the former’s residence. Director of the company, Shriniwas Rao said company has taken an insurance of 1 crore from The New India Insurance Company as a part of its CSR activities.

The water park is likely to shut down, as Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has terminated its contract to make way for the Mahametro project.

The NIT has decided to terminate Haldiram’s contract on May 31 and hand over the park land to MahaMetro on June 1. Haldiram’s contract with NIT is till 2022. The concessionaire wants compensation for revenue loss for this period.
