Nagpur : Pandharpur is a holy place like Kashi and lakhs of devotees come in the month of Ashadh and for the Yatra to have Darshan of Vitthal. The government is making all efforts sothat there no health issue arise there . Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced in the Legislative Council that the polluted water should not come in the Chandrabhaga river and the Integrated Waste water Project will be completed in 24 months to process the sewage.
Since Chandrabhaga had polluted water, the notice was given by member Neelam Gorhe with the the health concern of the devotees. Replying to the attention notice Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis was speaking. He said that during the Jatra ( Wari ) , there is a crowd of devotees in Pandharpur city and the surrounding area. The city has 26 MLD water requirement and 19 MLD water is supplied. 15.5 MLD water is processed. Moreover, the number of underground drains is also inadequate. Considering the need of city, the ‘Namami Chandrabhaga’ Year 2049 , the waste water integrated project has been sanctioned on February 7, 2018 and for this, funds of Rs 59.75 crore have been distributed.
The Chief Minister said that arrangements have been made at the places on the occasion of Wari ( Jatra). Arrangements have been made for cleanliness by arranging a separate system through temple committee and municipality. Daund , Baramati, Shirur, Pune, Alandi, Pimpri Chinchwad have been ordered to leave water after the process of sewage disposal. Mobile toilets have been set up at the places of the Wari and the number of bathrooms and toilets has also been increased. Apart from this, the sewage water process system (STP) will also be used to maintain and monitor the quality of water, Shree Fadnavis said.
