Kerela: Three died and 57 injured after foot over bridge collapsed in Kerala’s Kollam district on Monday.
The body of two of them has been fished out. One of the woman has been identified as Shyamala (55) an employee state run of Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited in Kollam district’s Chavara village. The body of another woman, Annamma, was fished out from the lake in the evening.
According to the information received, around 70 employees of the company were on the bridge when it came crashing down at 10.30 am. At least 57 of them were injured,sources reported.
The collapsed bridge connects the company’s complex to its adjacent mineral separation (MS) unit.
All the injured are admitted to a nearby government hospital. The police are investigating why the bridge collapsed.
