Mumbai : The Delegation led by the chief of the New South Wales province (Australia ) Mrs Gladij Berjicliyan called on the Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis today at the Mantralaya and discussed the possibilities of investments in various sector.
Mrs Gladij Berjicliyan informed that the New South Wales province (Australia ) has invested in various sectors in Maharashtra, especially in the financial services, energy, mining, Agriculture, Urban Infrastructure facilities and environment, Information Technology, Public health, Medicines, Sports, Arts and culture and has inked a memorandum of understanding for the same. She further informed that they were interested in schools, dispensaries, roads and infrastructure facilities. We desire to establish friendly relations with Mahrashtra state.
The Chief Minister informed about the various ongoing projects in Maharashtra. The investors prefer Maharashtra for the purpose of investment and more than 50% of the foreign investment is taking place in Maharashtra, Airports have been approved for large cities in Maharashtra. The development of railway and Metro network is under process. The Chief Minister further informed that the work of the Nagpur Mumbai Samruddhi highway is under progress.
Mrs Berjicliyan expressed desire to work in this project.
The Chief Minister informed the delegation that they are not required to pay any tax other than Goods and service tax. Similarly the Government has simplified the norms for issuing of licenses to the industries.
The State Chief Secretary Shri Sumit Malik, Principal Secretary to the Public Works Department shri Ashish Kumar Singh, Skills Development and , Entrepreneurship Secretary Shri Asimkumar Gupta, Commerce and Investment Commissioner of the Government of India Shri Rohit Manchanda, Australian Counsel General Tonny Hubber, Parliamentary secretary to the New South Wales Province Dr Geoff Li, Special Ambassador Shri Barry Ofrel Chief of Staff Mrs Sarah Krukshank, Secretary to Mrs Berjicliyan , Shri Tim Reardon and Director Shri Edson Weszadeh were present on the occasion.
