An attempt to divide the Hindu, Muslim in the country: Muslim association

New Delhi: Taking a dig at Shashi Tharoor, over his controversial ‘Hindu Pakistan’ remark said that it is an attempt to divide the Hindus and Muslims living together in the country. The anguished and infuriated Muslim Youth Association on Friday also announced a bounty of Rs 11,000 for anyone who blackens the face of the Congress leader.

The president of Muslim Youth Association, Mohammad Amir Rashid, said, “This irresponsible statement is backed by Congress leadership and has hurt not only Hindus but the patriotic Muslims too and is merely an attempt to divide Hindus and Muslims living together in a great nation,”

Further accusing the Congress, he said that the Congressmen can go down to any extent to attain power as they are not prepared to see a ‘progressive India’ under the BJP regime.

Addressing an event in his hometown, Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor on Thursday said that if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins 2019 Lok Sabha elections it will create a condition leading to the formation of a ‘Hindu Pakistan’.

The statement drew flak from various political quarters with the BJP demanding an apology from the Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, responding to the criticism positively Tharoor, on Friday tweeted the song ‘Kuchh to log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehnaa.’
