Accident on Mumbai-Goa highway: One dies, 17 injured

Ratnagiri: A terrific accident which was happened on Mumbai-Goa highway on Tuesday,has killed one person and 17 others injured. As per sources, the accident happened after a dumpster carrying workers has hit a mango tree on highway, and the tree had a fell down on the vehicle. The incident took place just 2 km from Lanja around 12 o’clock afternoon.

According to the information, the driver lost its control over the speeding vehicle while taking turn at Bageshree. The hit was so strong that the dumpster hit the mango tree in the nearby area which collapsed on the vehicle.

The deceased, Mukadam Shivappa Pawar, died on the spot. Other injured were identified as, Renuka Imparagi, Minal Madwar, Mahadevi Imparigi, Vimala Aparpagi, Sharda Sirodisi, Sumitra Wadar, Jyoti Gadke, Parashu Gadkekar, Sanjana Arger, Chanappa Arger, Sadudevi Kalikoi, Ranjana Mazawar, Renuka Aloor, Satya Mastar, Revathi Chawari, Parashuram Kalikoi. All are workers from Karnataka state. The driver, Sandeep Bhogate (Talgaon Malwan), was also injured. Some were shifted to Ratnagiri for immediate treatment.
