8 CRPF personnel killed, 6 injured in Maoist attack in Sukma

Chhattisgarh: Yet again, in an IED blast by Naxals in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, eight personnel of the 212 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were reportedly killed, while some jawans were also injured on Tuesday.

As per the news agencies, the personnel were conducting an area-domination operation in the Kistaram area forest, when their mine-protected vehicle (MPV) was reportedly blown up. Back-ups were rushed to the spot soon after the attack.

An official informed the news agency that 8 paramilitary personnel of the 212th battalion were killed in the blast. He added that several explosives were used to blow up the vehicle.

To noted that last April, in the biggest Maoist attack on CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh in the last seven years, 25 jawans were killed and six injured in an ambush in the Burkapal area of Sukma.
